The anticipation of the day had vanished. He woke up early, went for a run, and made himself a big breakfast. He walked into his office with a fresh sense of calm, the scent of the citrus cleaner from the cleaning service lingered. He’d created a detailed checklist, with everything color-coded and clearly labeled. He looked at the window. The world was good.

The new employee, a young woman named Ava, arrived looking a bit intimidated. He stood up and gave her a welcoming smile.

"Ava, glad you're here! Let's get you set up, yeah? It's all very simple, you'll be teaching someone else in no time."
